Raw materials for potassium fertilizer formulations for saline-alkali soil cultivation
Testing potassium acetate and potassium formate in water-soluble fertilisers for saline-alkali crops is possible. Both materials provide potassium, but none leaches salts, reduces soil salinity, or improves saline-alkali soil. Basic irrigation, drainage, and soil amendment are still needed.

Uses of Potassium Acetate
Potassium acetate may be employed in formulation studies when a chloride-free source of potassium is required. Consider the salinity of irrigation water, electrical conductivity of the root zone and salt tolerance of the crop at the time of formulation, otherwise, the addition of salty substances might increase the osmotic pressure of the root zone.
Potassium Formate Uses
Potassium formate may be compared to other raw materials for potassium fertilisers. It must be ensured to be soluble and compatible with certain formulations. Moreover, the increased potassium supply should not be taken as a relief of salinity and alkalinity dangers.
Method of testing
First, match the fertiliser formulation to the pH , salt concentration , main salts , drainage and water retention of the soil . Conduct experiments on small plots of land to observe the extent of high salt levels near the roots , the efficiency of plant absorption of potassium , and the growth of the crops . Control groups should receive the same potassium to other treatments .

Use boundaries
Saline-alkali land is often reclaimed by drainage, salt leaching, appropriate soil amendments and crop management. The efficiency of potassium-rich nutrient formulations is proved by experimental data and is based on the raw ingredients and the final fertilisers.
