Potassium organic acid raw materials for water-soluble fertilizers for greenhouse crops
Potassium acetate and potassium formate may be used in water soluble greenhouse fertilisers in the absence of chlorides. Tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers and melons all have varied potassium needs. Therefore, the product should be determined by the growth medium, the irrigation water, the fertiliser solution EC and the development phases.

Formulations and Applications of Potassium Acetate
Potassium acetate is very soluble in water and may be used to create liquid fertilisers or fertilisers for drip irrigation. Potassium supply, but its influence on fruit sugar content, colouration or rhizosphere pH has to be tested in full nutrient solutions and in real growing techniques.
Potassium formate: formulations and applications
Potassium formate may be used as an alternate chloride-free potassium source for comparative experiments. If employed in greenhouse nutrient solutions, special attention should be given to solubility, mixing properties, electrical conductivity and long-term storage stability to confirm compliance with current fertilisation methods.
Testing R&D
The two raw materials were evaluated on equal basis for their real potassium content. The evaluations included mother liquor clarity, scale development at the dripper and crop leaf and fruit characteristics. The calcium and magnesium supply in the formulation should be calculated separately.

Product Description
The instructions for the farmer should be based on formulation experiments and local cultivation circumstances. Do not use generic raw material application rates as the fertilisation prescription for all greenhouse crops.
